Buying a guitar from Spain after Brexit

As most of our customers will know, the transition period that governed the relationship between the EU and the UK ended on the 31st of December 2020.

Thankfully, the agreement reached between the two sides means that products manufactured in the EU (of which Spain is a member) and exported to the UK are not subject to customs tariffs.

The prices that appear on our website in the UK however, can no longer include VAT, which means that products entering the UK will be subject to import duties there, and must be settled by our customers on receipt of the goods. In effect, this is a straightforward process: you will not be required to fill out any paperwork, as Guitar from Spain we will provide carriers with all of the necessary documents. You will simply be contacted by mail or telephone prior to delivery of your guitar and informed as to how to pay the balance due.

Happily, at GFS our experience at sending our guitars to nations outside of the EU is well established, and the necessary procedures have long been in place: hundreds of our models make their way to third countries across the globe every year.

With that said, we look forward to continuing to send our guitars from Spain to our friends and fellow musicians in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our valued customers in the UK for their continuing trust. Because the show will go on.
